ABOUT US
Although new technologies impose themselves at the speed of a shooting star, nothing overlaps a child's imagination. And it is to them, the children, that since 1997 we dedicate our work.
In Sintra we started and in Sintra we continue, where urban and rural reality meet and become an attractive challenge.
Throughout these years, shared with many companions and supported by those who believe in us, these Valdevinos have followed a natural path, learning, teaching, having fun ... we took to the stage many texts, some original, others by Portuguese authors like António Pedro, António Torrado, Jorge Salgueiro, José Gomes Ferreira, Alice Vieira, José Jorge Letria, Luis Vaz de Camões, Margarida Botelho and a handful of children's literature classics, Charles Perrault, Grimm Brothers or Miguel Cervantes.
We try to approach different themes and techniques, use various materials, welcome all ideas and we like to take our theater everywhere, not only in fixed places, but above all in itinerary in schools, libraries, beaches, fairs or places that , due to their specificity, adapt to the magic spirit that the puppet show, without a doubt, has the capacity to provide, valuing and fostering the taste for this art.
In March 2015 we opened the Casa da Marioneta de Sintra. This space promotes a greater connection to the community, to the thematic universe (environmental awareness, taste for books and reading, among others) and to the company's estate, through programmed activities, of a pedagogical and playful nature, aimed at different audiences. We intend to develop a taste and respect for this art, creating rewarding experiences that encourage regular visits, in a perspective of non-formal education, that contribute to the enhancement of cultural heritage and social integration.
